McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time 1.0 FTE, non-tenure clinical (NTC) track Assistant Professor NTC position in the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery.
The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through Texas high-level responsibilities: research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other services.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The Rank of Assistant Professor NTC in Vascular Surgery will teach, participate in clinical service, administrative, and provide direct patient care and supervision of medical students and residents in clinic and hospital settings.
- Participating in the Vascular Surgery practice in the Memorial City area Memorial Hermann locations; including participation in a UT general Vascular Surgery physician group call team for coverage.
- Collaborating with other Vascular Surgery physicians who will join the practice.
- Being involved in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of new or additional physicians to the group.
- Providing feedback regarding office operations, including hiring staff, office logistics, and recruitment of new physicians.
- Participating in the education and training of medical students and residents
- Supporting the research mission of the department and university through:
a) Facilitating reasonable and appropriate access to patients by research staff.
b) Assisting when requested with the collection of research data, including biological specimens and
c) Providing information and education on ongoing research studies to potentially eligible research subjects.
Qualifications:
- Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
- Board certification or be eligible
